Dog-friendly campsite

We welcome the whole family, including dogs to Beddgelert Campsite.

We are a dog-friendly location and allow up to 4 dogs to be booked for an additional charge per pitch. Drop by reception to pick up a complimentary tasty treat before setting off for a walk through some of Snowdonia's great trails and walking routes.

If those paws get a bit muddy, then drop by the camping facilities block and use our outdoor dog wash station with fresh warm water to get a hose down.

Dogs are not permitted in our camping facilities block or The Bakehouse (guide dogs are permitted) but we have placed dog lead tie points outside for your convenience.

Venturing out with your dogs

Catch the train at our train station for a scenic journey on the Welsh Highland Railway, for a small charge dogs can ride too.

Snowdonia National Park is abundant with wildlife. It's not uncommon to find squirrels, sheep, goats and rabbits wandering around (including on our location!), please ensure your dogs remain on leads when walking around location and take additional caution when walking off-location.

Dog-friendly beaches

Nothing beats a beach walk with your dog to burn off some of their excess energy and put a big smile on their faces. North Wales has stunning beaches along it’s coastline which you can all explore.

Dinas Dinlle, Caernarfon, Gwynedd, LL54 5TW

Dinas Dinlle is a popular beach for local dog walkers and families. The beach has two slipways as it is a popular location for water sports in the summer months. It offers a small selection of shops and cafés providing light lunches, ice cream and paninis. There is a restriction on dogs on some parts of the beach, however there is more than enough unrestricted space for dogs to run and enjoy themselves.

Rhosneigr, Holyhead, Anglesey, LL64 5JR

One of the two main beaches at Rhosneigr, it is known as Traeth Llydan, which translates to “Broad Beach” in Welsh. A hugely popular beach for surfing, swimming, kite surfing, snorkelling and kayaking. It is the smaller of the two beaches and a few minutes walk to popular and busy village, but the great thing is that it has no restrictions for dogs so they can run free and lap up the fresh sea air.

Black Rock Sands, Morfa Bychan, Porthmadog, LL49 9YB

The beach stretches for about 2 miles, it’s a large beach and is backed by a dunes along with plenty of rockpools to explore as well as some interesting caverns.

A hugely popular beach with vehicle access onto the sands makes it the ideal picnic or beach destination for the day. Dogs are not allowed on the northern end of the beach between 1st April and 30th September. The rest of this considerable stretch of beach is dog friendly year round.
